daniela dorlandi

Daniela d’Orlandi was born in Athens. She graduated in Applied Economics with honors at the University of Paris-Dauphine in 1996, where she also obtained a Master in International Relations with honors in 1997.

On December 2000, she entered the diplomatic career. She served at the Diplomatic Protocol, at the Office in charge of visits abroad and in Italy.

From 2004 to 2008, she was Deputy Head of Mission at the Italian Embassy in Santo Domingo. From 2008 to 2012, she was Deputy to the Permanent Representative at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the Council in Europe in Strasbourg, where she followed the human rights, legal, cultural and budget issues.

Back in Rome in 2012, at the Diplomatic Protocol, at the Office in charge of General Affairs of the Diplomatic Corps, she was then nominated Chief of Staff of the Diplomatic Protocol in 2013.

In 2016, she was First Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations in Geneva and Head of Human Rights Section, during the mandate of Italy as Member of the UN Human Rights Council.

Since 24 August 2020, she has been Ambassador of Italy in Ghana and in Togo.

Knight in the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (2013).

She speaks English, French and Spanish.

She is married with three children (two boys and one girl).
