BOOK AN APPOINTMENT

To apply for a visa, it is necessary to book an appointment.

For Ghanaian citizens, there are two agencies in Ghana, one in Accra and one in Kumasi, while for Togolese citizens, an agency is available in Lomé.

For Family Reunification applications with a Nulla Osta, a dedicated platform is now available to book an appointment date. Following payment, the appointment will be assigned based on the expiry date of the Nulla Osta.

For all other visa categories, please download the new VFS Italy Mobile App through this link by selecting your operating system (iOS or Android). Please also note that applicants who have already obtained a Schengen visa within the last 5 years can now use a dedicated category called “previous travellers”.

In the event of a proven and duly documented emergency, applicants may submit a request to visti.accra@esteri.it, attaching the relevant supporting documentation.

On the day of the appointment, applicants must present their original passport together with all the required supporting documents in paper format. The passport cannot be returned until the visa application process has been completed, except in cases of duly justified special circumstances.

Please note: the passport must contain at least two consecutive blank pages to allow for the possible affixing of the visa.

VISA APPLICATIONS FOR FAMILY MEMBERS OF EU CITIZENS

Foreign family members of Italian/EU citizens, as defined under Article 2 of Italian Legislative Decree No. 30/2007, are entitled to priority processing of their applications. They may book an appointment directly with the Embassy of Italy in Accra from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., or by sending an email to visti.accra@esteri.it. In order to prove the family relationship, applicants must present an identity document and—depending on the case—a marriage certificate, proof of family relationship, or birth certificate, registered with the competent Italian authorities and already legalised and/or transcribed.
